Tokidoki Limited-Edition, Ultra-Portable With WiMAX, Senior Citizen and Water-Cooled Notebooks Take CES Center Stage Here is the rest of the release: Fujitsu Showcases Notebooks That Combine Fashion, Form and Function at 2009 International CES Hopefully this shot I took with a hand model will help give you an idea. If you're listening to the subjectivists, there's only one sure way to get a setup you like, and that's to test the options yourself.Fujitsu showed a netbook that is smaller by far than the standard offering. You're going to hear people advocating for both Schiit and other companies because people have different ears, different preferences, and different headphones. A CD will have more noise than the amp and DAC, so you should have perfectly clear audio either way.Īs for the subjectivist side. Using the objectivists' logic and assuming Amir's measurement methodology is sound (which has been criticized), you will hear no difference whatsoever between that and an Atom stack ( Atom DAC measurement, and Atom amp measurement). Schiit's stuff is also cheap (at least in the US) and is built in the US, which means better worker treatment than other companies. The Modius/Magnius stack has been independently measured (by Audio Science Review), and both the Modius and the Magnius measure extremely well (assuming you use balanced headphones and trust Amir's measurement methods). Schiit's meta is accepted here because this sub is measurement-heavy. Asgard works with anything out of the box, no third party cable required. It costs much more in the long run as you get more headphones. This means, to get the sound you're supposed to out of your Magnius, you need to use balanced, usually meaning needing to buy a balanced cable and balanced adaptors which comes to a couple hundred dollars per headphone. Also, the Magnius single ended output doesn't measure well nor sound well (Schiit has stated this is basically intentional). This is because Asgard pushes almost as much power out of its single ended output as Magnius does it's balanced. Just to add something no-one has said, I wouldn't get the Magnius with the Modius would rather the Asgard. I'd rather get something a lot of people who are deep into the audio game recommend rather than experiment with something someone on their first stack recommends. I could have gotten other stuff, but I didn't based on community recommendations. I have a Modius and Asgard (and Valhalla) and am extremely happy with my purchase. Sure there are other stuff at the same price point but Schiit's are recommended for newbies or upgrading because.Schiit. Schiit's stuff looks nice and is built well.
